Employees Twisted By Cops, Actually Crushing Democracy

More than 10 employees were injured and 400 protestors were detained by the police during a peaceful march called by Joint Consultative Committee on 30 January 2014 in view of unfulfilled promises by Government.
The Government has failed to fulfill its promises as it entered  to an agreement in 2011. The Employees have been demanding regularization of daily wagers/casual labors/ adhoc and contractual employees and enhancement in retirement age from 58 to 60 years.
On 30january employees tried to take out a march  towards the civil secretariat, however authorities foiled their attempt as number of police personnel cane charged and twisted the employees. Primary leaders of JCC were also arrested including Abul Qayoom Wani, who were later released, held a meeting for the future course of agitation. It was decided that all employees will sit before the residence of Chief Minister at 6pm on Friday. Along with this a peaceful march will be taken on 14th February to the legislative assembly. On Feb. 15 all government/semi government employees will observe pen down at their respective offices.
