Independence Day Celebrated With No Patriotic Fervor

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Jenab Omar Abdullah Hoisted Flag on Independence Day 15th August 2013 at Historical Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar. There were strict security patrols deployed around the stadium even security men were vigilating the Marchpast from the nearer higher floors. The contingents of Jammu and Kashmir Police , Forest Police Force. Center Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force, Kashmir Armed Police along with school children contingents were the part of Parade. Omar Abdullah took salute at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar. Besides in other districts, the mainstream leaders also took salute.
As, the primary and central Independence Day was celebrated at Srinagar but toll of people was recorded at bottom level. No civilians were seen viewing the celebration. Spectators were not present at the stadium, however the extra school children who were accompanying the contingents were seen for some time viewing and entertaining.
Despite Independence Day, the Srinagar city along with other towns and districts remained off. There was no movement of transport seen on the roads, and areas of hustle and bustle were quiet. But fortunately no untoward accident was reported from anywhere.
