Shutdown Called by Syed Ali Shah Geelani On June 1 (Monday) For Killing of Two Kashmiri Men

30 June 2013: In a suspected militant hunt the Indian Army on 30 June killed 18 year old teenage boy in Markondal village of Kashmir. Later, when Army was withdrawing from the operation hundreds of locals hurled stones on the Army, killing one more and injuring many others when Army opened the fire on the gathering of locals. Police has registered case against the army, and the Army has launched its own probe into the incident. Army Major General R R Nimbodkar told  "If any army personnel is found guilty, he will be dealt with strictly". Meanwhile, The APHC-G Syed Ali Shah Geelani called for shutdown on Monday june 1 in Indian Administered Kashmir. Anti India sentiments run deep in the Kashmir region from 1989 when nearly a dozen of armed  militias started fighting against the India for the demand of freedom from India.
